QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU REALIGN AND CHECK IN ON YOUR ENERGY

September 18 2025 – Delikate Rayne

In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves, especially when we’re overwhelmed, burnt out, or stretched too thin. One of the most powerful forms of self care isn't a spa day or a weekend getaway, it's pausing to honestly reflect and realign your energy. Here are four insightful questions to help you do just that. Take time to sit with each one. Journal your answers, go for a walk, or simply think them through. You might be surprised by what you discover.

What habits, people, places, or things currently drain my energy?: Sometimes the things that tire us out aren't obvious until we name them. Is there a habit you’ve picked up (like mindless scrolling or overcommitting) that quietly chips away at your mental space? Identifying these energy drains isn’t about blame, it’s about awareness. Once you know what’s pulling you down, you can begin to shift your relationship to it.

Where or when do I feel the most energized, reconnected, and myself in life?: Think back to recent moments when you felt truly alive, peaceful, or aligned. What were you doing? Who were you with? Where were you? Whether it’s being in nature, working on something creative, having deep conversations, or moving your body, those moments are clues. They point you back to your values, passions, and purpose.

What boundaries or rules should I make to protect my energy moving forward?: Once you know what drains and restores you, it’s time to set some healthy boundaries. That might mean saying “no” more often, limiting time with certain people, scheduling screen free hours, or carving out non negotiable time for rest or creativity. Boundaries aren’t walls, they’re fences with gates. They let the right things in and keep the wrong things from taking over.

Where do I feel tired, sluggish, or disconnected in my life?: These are signals, not failures. Feeling disconnected might mean something needs to change, a routine, a job, a mindset. Feeling tired might point to a need for rest, not more effort. Don’t ignore these cues; honor them. Disconnection often stems from living out of alignment with your values, desires, or authentic self. The more honest you are here, the more power you have to shift things.

Your energy is one of your most valuable resources. Protecting it isn’t selfish, it’s essential. By regularly checking in and realigning with what truly matters to you, you’ll create space not just to survive, but to thrive.
