9 LESSONS LEARNED THIS YEAR TO TAKE INTO NEXT YEAR
December 31 2025 – Delikate Rayne
As the new year approaches you may already be looking forward to the future, but it is important to look backwards too. Wisdom is wealth. The lessons you learned this year are valuable. They may even be ones you want to take with you into the next chapter of your life.

1. Progress Is Flexible: There is no fixed idea of progress. You may have had to define and redefine what that looked like for you this year. That is okay! As you change, so do your ideas of what is attainable.
2. Be Receptive to Change: We all have our comfort zones. Even when you transition into a new place, that quickly can become familiar and safe too. Accepting change means opportunities for self-discovery.
3. Value Your Time: The balance between work and play is crucial. You may not have gotten to most of those goals on your checklist but that is okay. With a more refined time management system you can allot time to learning new skills and enjoying your hobbies.
4. Lean Into What Works: When you experienced difficulty or challenges, what habits or set of actions allowed you to succeed? What patterns enabled you to hold your head above water on days where self-care was needed?
5. Patience is Key: This might seem fairly obvious, but the most impactful change is gradual - enforced through repetition and a mindset of adaptability. You will get where you want to go, but it will not happen overnight.
6. Get In Sync: From your day-to-day schedule to the little things in your free time, you must ask yourself if all of these things align with your goals. Anything that feels misaligned with your goals is worth losing.
7. Expand Your Dreams: There are no such thing as big dreams. The only thing keeping you from attaining them is belief. Every little step you take towards the realization of your goals is one step closer than the day before to making them reality.
8. Take Care of Yourself: It's easy to neglect your health. On the days where you experience burnout or discomfort, a little TLC goes a long way. However, you do self-care is how your mind, body, and spirit continue to thrive.
9. Be Present: Enjoy what you have now. The journey is as satisfying as the end goal. Don't spend too much time building for the future that you neglect what you have going on now.
Sometimes, the key is not working harder but working smarter. The lessons that you learned this year will continue to elevate you to higher places next year. The learning process never stops. Once you do the internal work, everything falls into alignment.
