6 HEALTH AND WELLNESS TRENDS TO AVOID THIS YEAR

March 01 2025 – Delikate Rayne

Do you love finding new health and wellness trends? Well sometimes not all health trends are what they claim to be and aren't worth the hype. While some health trends seem promising, others can be misleading or even harmful. This year, let’s focus on what truly supports your well being and steer clear of the fads that don’t. Knowing what trends to avoid and always doing some extra research, can help you make healthier choices.

Sipping Energy Drinks: Drinking too many energy drinks and relying on them as a source of nutrients can lead to several health problems due to the high amounts of caffeine and sugar they contain. Energy drinks can mimic that you have more energy, when that "energy" is actually a stimulant.

Celery Juice Cleanse: Juice cleanses are known to reduce inflammation and boost energy however, a celery juice cleanse can remove fiber from celery, leaving behind concentrated sugar, which can cause nutrient deficiencies and digestive issues.

Calorie Counting: Calorie counting has been known over the years however, studies show that they’re ineffective at achieving and maintaining a healthy weight in the long run.

Drinking Chlorophyll Water: This popular trend claims it helps stimulate the immune system and energize the body, however there is little research to back up these claims and doing so can cause side effects such as stomach aches and dermatitis.

Detoxing the Body: Detoxing has become very popular however our body already has natural detoxification organs and detoxing too much can cause nutrient deficiencies, dehydration, and digestive distress.

Lemon Coffee: Lemon coffee can cause stomach irritation and acid reflux. Due to the high acidity of lemon juice and coffee, there is also a risk of reducing the enamel on your teeth.
